Prior to DreamWorks Animation's public offering in October 2004, Daly served as head of the animation division of DreamWorks SKG since July 1997, and oversaw DreamWorks Worldwide Home Entertainment, which is among the top video companies in the world. With Daly, the division released the worldwide record-breaker, Shrek, selling close to 43 million copies to date. Under Daly's leadership DreamWorks' animation division developed into a CG studio with multiple worldwide production locations, including its two main campuses, PDI/DreamWorks in Northern California and DreamWorks Glendale campus in Southern California. DreamWorks' world-class creative talent, technology pioneers and leading innovators made it possible for the studio to be first to release two CG animated feature films in one year. In May 2004, Shrek 2 broke numerous box office records including: fastest film to earn $400 million, a record-setting Memorial Day Weekend gross of $95.6 million, and the highest grossing opening weekend in box office history. Shrek 2 ended its theatrical run as not only the highest-grossing animated feature in history but also the third highest-grossing film of all time. DreamWorks Animation's current release, Shark Tale, topped the domestic box office for its first three weeks of release and has already earned more than $220 million worldwide. Prior to joining DreamWorks, Daly was the President of Buena Vista Home Video (BVHV), North America, where she presided over the single largest video company in the world. Daly was responsible for marketing, sales, distribution, operations, production and all other facets of the Walt Disney Company division. Beginning in 1994, Daly initiated a radically new business concept for the entertainment industry -- high quality, family-oriented films produced exclusively for video, featuring some of Disney's most successful franchises.
